Trios Therapy Services Providing Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy Starting Aug. 108/3/2020 Trios Health is pleased to announce that outpatient occupational, physical and speech therapy services will be provided beginning on August 10.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing these services back to our community and to offer them in conjunction with cardiac and pulmonary rehab. There’s a patient population with an increased need for therapy services in the Tri-Cities and we feel that Trios can fill that gap,” said Kristy Leitze, Interim Director of Therapy Services. “We will be able to provide top-notch level care in an amazing facility with top of the line equipment.” Trios Therapy Services serves all patient types – from pediatrics through geriatrics – and operates on the second floor of the Trios Care Center at Southridge, putting Therapy Services in the same building as many Trios Health providers. “We have a comprehensive model that patients can get all their therapeutic needs under one roof,” Leitze said. “We’ve brought on a team of skilled therapists that are all nationally certified with the highest credentials in their field of work.” Trios Therapy Services is taking appointments now for the opening of occupational, physical and speech therapy and can be reached at 509.221.6350. Clients do need a referral from their primary care provider. Prior to the grand re-opening of these services, an open house is scheduled Aug. 5 for providers and media to tour the Therapy Services facilities and meet the therapists. Masks will be required for all attendees, and social distancing protocols will be implemented as well. Media representatives wishing to attend the open house should contact Kara Heldt, Marketing Coordinator, at 509.221.5949 to make an appointment. Media appointments are available after 1:30 p.m., and one media representative is allowed at a time. All guests will be screened for temperature and possible COVID-19 symptoms prior to entry. More information can be found at trioshealth.org/TherapyServices.

After extensive planning, property preparations, team member training and at the direction of the Yakama Nation, Legends Casino Hotel management will welcome guests back to the property as of 10:00am on Thursday, August 13. Guests returning will appreciate a different experience designed to place both team and guest health as a priority. Our new hours will be daily from 10:00am to 2:00am; however, Legends Hotel guests will have exclusive access to the casino floor beginning at 9:00am.
While we support the measures and procedures Governor Inslee and our county teams implement to lessen the spread of COVID-19, the Yakama Nation maintains sovereign decision-making on tribal lands including the decision to reopen Legends Casino Hotel. “We employ almost 800 team members from the region, and they were placed on standby status on April 9 due to this extended closure. That gave us the flexibility to continue to provide healthcare benefits for our team members while allowing them to apply for unemployment,” explained General Manager Letisha Peterson, “That also gave us the ability to bring each one of them back with a phone call, and that’s exactly what we started doing this week.” Legends Casino Hotel is a major contributor to the Yakama Nation’s and region’s economy. According to the Washington Tourism Alliance, travelers spent $414 million in Yakima County in 2018 and supported 3,860 jobs. Legends Casino Hotel helps drive that impact as do many other hospitality destinations in our community that have been affected by this extended closure. We have taken the necessary steps to reopen in a responsible manner that supports the health and safety of both team members and guests. All team members have already been trained with the “new way” we will do business. All guests will be screened and have touchless temperature checks before entering. Everyone—guests and Legends team members—will be required to wear face masks and adhere to the minimum 6-foot distancing standards. Complimentary masks will be made available for guests who don’t have one, while supplies last. Guest capacity on the casino floor and hotel occupancy will be limited to approximately 50%. Therefore, it is recommended that guests wishing to return, but not willing to endure potential lengthy wait times, consider coming on another day other than the August 13 reopening date. Other changes guests can expect include:

Visit Tri-Cities was recognized for earning the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program (DMAP) accreditation with “distinction” at the Destinations International (DI) Virtual 2020 Annual Convention on July 15, 2020. DMAP is a recognition of Visit Tri-Cities’ commitment to industry excellence and meeting the industry standard for performance and accountability of destination organizations around the world.
"Destination accreditation provides a visible differentiator for these special organizations as an independent review board assessed their specific operations, leadership and policies to determine that they meet or exceed the standards of the industry,” said David Holder, Vice President – Tourism of JLL - Hospitality and Tourism Group. “We are pleased to have Visit Tri-Cities join our distinguished group of professionals,” said Don Welsh, President and CEO of Destinations International. “The industry distinction defines quality and performance standards for destination organizations, and I look forward to welcoming them to the DMAP community.” The accreditation program requires a destination organization to successfully comply with a multitude of mandatory and voluntary standards that span a variety of performance areas to gain this momentous achievement. The standards cover nearly all aspects related to the management and marketing of destination organizations including governance, finance, human resources, sales, communications, destination development and research. Visit Tri-Cities joins the ranks of over 200 destination organizations who have obtained DMAP recognition. “The entire Visit Tri-Cities team collaborated to ensure that our organization is operating within our industry’s highest standards, and we are thrilled to be accredited with distinction from DMAP. Additionally, we’re very proud that our application was noted as ‘one of the best’ the DMAP board had reviewed,” said Michael Novakovich, President & CEO of Visit Tri-Cities. “The accreditation is not only an honor, but demonstrates Visit Tri-Cities’ continued commitment to promoting the Tri-Cities as a premier destination to live, work and play.” In this digital age, readers have many choices on where to get books, but time, ease of access, and cost are important considerations for most. Fortunately, libraries have an easy solution. Residents of Benton, Franklin, and parts of Adams counties can instantly sign up for a Mid-Columbia Libraries (MCL) digital library card if they don’t already have a library card and begin borrowing popular eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagazines in about 30 seconds using only their cell phone number. To sign up for this Instant Digital Card, community members can visit the library’s website or download Libby, the award-winning one-tap reading app from OverDrive.
“Especially now, while our physical branches are closed, the instant digital card is a wonderful way to stay engaged with reading and your library,” says MCL Executive Director and Chief Librarian Kyle Cox. “We’ve seen our digital check outs soar, and we’re continuing to add to our digital collection regularly.” By entering their cell phone number via the MCL website or Libby, a secure verification service connects the user’s name and phone number to a physical address. The new customer’s cell phone number doubles as their card number allowing access to MCL’s OverDrive-powered digital titles. Named one of PCMag’s Best Free Software of 2019 and one of Popular Mechanics’ 20 Best Apps of the 2010s, Libby seamlessly connects first-time users and experienced readers with the popular digital collection of MCL. This provides restaurant and retail businesses an opportunity to temporarily utilize up to 50% of their required, existing outdoor off-street parking spaces to increase their occupancy during the phased reopening as outlined in the Governors “Safe Start” plan. Additionally, restaurant and retail businesses may temporarily utilize 100% of their existing off-street parking that is in excess of the minimum required off-street parking spaces as determined by the City of Kennewick.
Businesses who wish to pursue this new opportunity need to submit an on-line application for review to ensure safety and accessibility guidelines will be met. There is no fee for this application and review. Businesses who serve alcoholic beverages need prior approval from the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board and all businesses need to have completed their business pledge that they will follow all COVID-19 guidelines and their COVID-19 Safety Plan that is submitted to the Benton-Franklin Health District. As required for temporary moratoriums, the City will schedule a public hearing on September 1, 2020 for anyone to provide comments and testimony on the moratorium and interim controls. The initial period for the moratorium is 180 days, unless repealed, extended or modified by the City Council after the public hearing. |
